Sail Lanka Charter or the first steps of Yachting

Sail Lanka Charter is born from the collaboration of a Sri Lankan Shipyard and a French couple, Elodie Le Blevenec and Julien Carayon, both professional navigators. Their catamaran ‘Topaz’ is a beautiful 48 feet (15m) sailing catamaran especially designed for “day-charter”: with a large and open cockpit able to accommodate up to 30 passengers (no cabins), the boat is stylish and comfortable, and safety is guaranteed by a friendly and experienced crew.

The concept

Sri Lanka’s current positive tourist environment is ripe for the development of water sports and innovative leisure activities, and yachting – a sport famous acrossthe globe – appeared to us to be the natural and logical next step.

Sail Lanka Charter hopes that by introducing sailing to Sri Lanka, and helping to create marinas, infrastructures and facilities to better equip the island for yachties, that Sri Lanka becomes the next best place for yachting in South Asia.

Why sailing?

Sailing is an activity that caters to all; couples, families and groups of friends who want to experience a new way of enjoying the sea, a genuine moment of relaxation far away from the crowded beaches and, why not, perhaps a sailing lesson too.

Forget about setting sail for a purpose or simply travelling from A to B, Sail Lanka Charter offers the chance to appreciate the majesty of sailing in harmony with nature’s elements whilst soaking in Sri Lanka’s spectacular coastal scenery.

Topaz is also ideal for private events, as well as corporate sailing and incentives: a taste of yachting and an unforgettable experience to fulfill with memories all specials events. Sailing in Sri Lanka, in style.
